MILES Seminar - Prof. Tianshuo Zhao
Dr. Zhao joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong as Assistant Professor in Sep. 2022. Prior to HKU, he obtained his bachelor's and PhD degrees from Tsinghua University and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively. He then received postdoctoral training in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Yale University and in the Engineering Research Center (ERC) for the Internet of Things for precision agriculture (loT4Ag) at the University of Pennsylvania, respectively. Dr. Zhao is leading the nanomaterials and devices (NanoMADE) lab to advance colloidal nanomaterial-based devices towards real-world applications in sensing, communication, and energy harvesting.
In this talk, he will highlight several ongoing projects about developing NC-transduced sensing and detection devices, including NC material and device architecture designs for near-infrared optoelectronic devices, chemical treatment-assisted nano-printing to achieve NC detector arrays, and NC-enhanced ion and gas sensors with ultra-high sensitivity.
